Best AI interview software in 2026

AI interview software is useful when the first conversation is the same six questions, asked forty times, by whoever was free. It is useless when it emits a score and hides the words. A hiring manager cannot defend a number. They can defend a transcript.

InterviewRoom is that spoken screen. The candidate gets a link, talks for up to 25 minutes, and the interviewer asks a follow-up from what was just said. You read a transcript and a score. Audio is not kept. You still decide who is worth a person. Greenhouse or any other ATS remains the requisition. This page says how to buy that split.

Connects to

These are the products this workflow actually touches. A mark in this row is a connection or a channel we set up. It is not a customer logo and it is not a partnership.

  • Gmail

Where the CV arrives and where the invite link is sent.

  • Google Calendar

Where the human interview is booked after you have read the transcript.

Sits beside

These are products teams already pay for, or compare in the same shortlist. We are not claiming a native integration unless the sentence under the logo says so.

  • LinkedIn

Where the role is posted and the candidate is sourced.

  • WhatsApp

How candidates in India confirm they will take the screen.

  • Greenhouse

A common ATS for the requisition. InterviewRoom does not replace it.

  • Google

One of the company-style practice loops. Not a customer.

What you are actually buying

You are buying a repeatable first round, not a recruiter. Free practice is 10 minutes. A hiring-team interview can run 25. You set the track, the seniority, and one short coding problem when the role needs it. Before a candidate starts an interview you sent, they are told the company will see the score and the full transcript. Ending early still produces both.

You are not buying an offer workflow, a background check, or a client portal. Agencies that need those should keep the ATS they already run. The logos for Greenhouse, LinkedIn, Gmail, Google Calendar, and WhatsApp are the surrounding tools. Gmail and Calendar are where the invite and the later human slot live. We do not claim those products push data in by API.

How a desk uses it on a real role

Pick one role you hire every month. Write the questions you wish every recruiter asked the same way. Send the link only to people who already pass the hard filters. Read every transcript the first week. Change the room if a follow-up is wrong. Then add a second role. Pointing it at the entire inbound pile creates a pile of transcripts you were never going to hire.

Campus drives are the same product and a different week. One rubric, eligible students only, practice that does not count, then the real link. That write-up is the campus hiring solution. Do not run a placement week and an agency desk as if the rollout notes were identical.

Disclosure, and the recording you do not have

Tell candidates in the WhatsApp message, not only inside the product. People tolerate a structured screen. They do not tolerate feeling recorded in secret. There is no recording to hand a client later. If a process document promises audio, change the document.

Company names on the practice list are styles of loop a candidate can aim at: Meta, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, MongoDB, Walmart, Flipkart, Razorpay. Putting their marks on a “customers” slide would be false. They are not on this page as customers. Google’s mark is here because the calendar, the mail, and the practice loop are easy to confuse. Read the caption under the logo.

What a bad tool looks like

A score with no transcript. A hidden audio file. A claim that it “integrates with every ATS” and a settings page that is a CSV upload. A demo that only shows a polished candidate and never an early exit. A vendor who will not say, in the first call, that a human still makes the decision.

InterviewRoom is the narrow tool on purpose. If the thing you needed was a helpdesk for recruiters handing work to each other in Slack, that is FlowTux, at $99 a month for up to 50 members, and it is a different product.

What changes in 2026

In 2026, buy this only for a role you already screen by phone. Run one cohort. Compare the people you would have called with the people the transcript made you call. If those lists are identical and the transcripts taught you nothing, stop.

Questions

Does this replace Greenhouse?

No. Greenhouse, or your current ATS, stays the record of the job and the offer. InterviewRoom is the spoken first round.

Is the candidate recorded?

Audio is not stored. The company sees the transcript and the score, and the candidate is told that before they start.

Are Google, Flipkart, or Razorpay customers?

No. Those names are practice loops on the InterviewRoom product page.

Can we use our own questions?

Yes. The room is set from the role, the seniority, and the follow-ups you care about, including one short coding problem when you want it.
